Can it hum is a video work that depicts a walk along the East River Esplanade paired with arranged fragments of text that move
between present and past selves. The captions are read by Riccio’s dubbed voice and the footage is recorded by an iphone,
which serves as a kind of appendage. The video traces the abruptly imposed label and experience of illness as well as the
evolution of the self when confronted with shifting roles of dependency and care.
